During his 25 year career in media and communications, Chris has had the privilege of working with some of the biggest names in the business. In his long and distinguished career he has earned a Peabody Award, four Emmy Awards, and the respect of an impressive list of colleagues and clients.
Chris began his career at CBS News in New York producing primetime documentaries. His work ultimately led to becoming one of the youngest producers ever at the venerated news program 60 Minutes, and to working alongside legendary journalist Dan Rather. After 14 years at CBS Chris become a producer at The Oprah Winfrey Show where he worked closely with Oprah for five years. He was then entrusted to help Oprah’s production company with the $200 million launch of The Dr. Oz Show.
Switching focus, Chris moved to Austin, TX in 2010 to become the Director of Communications and Multi-Channel Marketing for leading biotechnology company Myriad Genetics. Four years later he founded the strategic marketing and communications consulting firm LEVER.MEDIA where he worked with companies to help them hone their messaging, solve their communications challenges and elevate their brands and public profiles.
In 2017 Chris returned to his roots to produce documentaries and news programming for Charter Communications. He and his small team focused on national issues through a local lens, and earned two Emmy Awards for their work. The programs “Lone Star Crisis,” “Faith and Firepower” and “L.A. Under the Gun” were widely praised for the depth of their reporting and for presenting a clear picture of the opioid epidemic and gun violence.
Chris re-branded his marketing and communications consulting company in 2020 to address the most challenging and pressing needs of companies, non-profits, law firms and healthcare clients. He and the LEVER.MEDIA team worked tirelessly to chart a course through an increasingly complicated media landscape, providing strategic solutions and training to make his clients stand out in the crowd.
In 2023 Chris joined Next Practices Group and serves as President and Head of Content Production for NEXT CONTENT LABS where he serves a diverse clientele of global brands with the same dedication to doing great work.
